Yoga was traditionally taught one-to-one so that it could be adapted to suit the needs and circumstances of each individual. While group classes tend to be the norm these days, one-to-one is a great way to learn, and to enjoy the support of the teacher in discovering how Yoga can help you meet your goals for health and personal growth.
Individual tuition is particularly helpful if you find yourself resonating with any of the following:
- you’d like to deepen your yoga practice and explore the possibility of yoga being a significant support in your life
- you have a health or mobility problem which makes it difficult to take part in a group class
- you would like to explore yoga as a therapy for an on-going condition eg. hypertension, digestive issues, anxiety, depression, low energy, problems with sleep…
- there is a specific aspect of practice you’d like to explore: breathwork, meditation, relaxation or perhaps working with sound
- your schedule doesn’t allow you to be in class at a particular time each week
- you think you can commit to a regular practice – daily, or almost daily
Working one-to-one is much more than just having private tuition.
It offers the opportunity for student and teacher to work together in designing a yoga practice appropriate to your needs and aspirations; taking into account your age, physical and mental health, lifestyle etc., working in this way with a teacher is very much a joint project where together we explore how yoga can best enhance your life and well being.
I offer one-to-one sessions both live and online.
If you’re curious to know more and wonder whether this would be the best way for you to establish or deepen your yoga practice … do get in touch either by phone or email and we’ll take it from there.
I’d love to hear from you!
